Abdominal Stretch

The abdominal stretch focuses on the lower torso and stretches the abdominal muscles. The Abdominal Stretch is a maintenance stretch and should be held for 10 to 15 seconds.

Body Part and Muscle Group
The Abdominal Stretch focuses on the lower torso. The Abdominals are stretched.


  • Start by lying face down on the floor.
  • With a straight back and spine neutral.
  • Place your hands either side of your head, keeping your elbows on the floor.
  • Looking straight at the mat, push upwards gently until the stretch is felt.

Progression: Push up with the arms.
