Flexibility affects both health and fitness. Poor flexibility increases the risk of muscles and joint injury, this is often evident in lower back pain and injury.

Flexibility is defined as the range of motion of a given joint and is influenced by:

  • Muscles and tendons surrounding the joint.
  • Ligaments connecting the bones that make up the given joint.
